An out of hours veterinary helpline providing speedy professional advice for people with health concerns about their pets is now available to Britain's 12 million pet-owning households. 
PHS-Direct (the three initials stand for Pet Health Service) – is based on the tried and tested NHS Direct concept but is for the 48% of homes with at least one of the estimated 8 million cats, 7 million dogs and 4 million other pets – rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, cage and aviary birds, reptiles etc – in the UK.
Our fully Qualified Veterinary Nurses are there to help you out at any time. Is your pet ourt of sorts? Whether it be guidance regarding your pet's health, diet, advice on grooming or any other basic level of care, we are there to help.
The service provides help within seconds to you from qualified veterinary nurses when your vet is closed.
PHS-Direct does not compete with veterinary practices. It aims to improve the overall veterinary service available to you with its ability to provide immediate professional advice, instruction or simply reassurance.
We are not here to replace your Vet. Your Vet provides many wonderful and necessary services and we are not a replacement, however there are times when simple and straightforward professional advice is needed, and this is where we can help. 
We promise you that if we feel that your pet's health is in jeopardy, we will always take the cautious path and refer you to a Vet - you have our promise on that. Not only that, but if a visit to the vet is the best course of action you will arrive at the surgery with a much fuller and clearer understanding of the problem.
